It was a fast read and very enjoyable. What a great opportunity to have the time and desire to travel so extensively. The only things that I know of India are what I read or see on TV which of course usually show the crowded cities or the Taj Mahal. I really enjoyed the peace and tranquility as well as some excitement along the way. I know I will never be able to see your great country but you certainly whet my appetite to know more. |

Ajit’s is a journey of passion and energy and his narration of it is so vivid and compelling that I found myself riding pillion. With him I could experience the loneliness of the long-distance rider, with him, I was filled with wonder at the yogi’s story and with him, I cried after meeting young soldiers and wondered if they would ever return home. This book is truly startling in the range of emotions it evokes. |

is a down-to-earth book which takes you on an arduous yet droll dream journey through the misty Himalayan mountains. This book has it all - the chutzpah of an adventurer, the raw vein of an earthy jester and the eyes of William Wordsworth.
It’s Amazing. It’s Awesome! |

I have just finished reading and am writing to tell you how much I have enjoyed it. Like you I have white hair being 68 years of age and have loved my Royal Enfield Bullet which I bought in 2004 like no other bike I have owned. I have been riding motorcycles on and off for 53 years and have never lost my love for this mode of travel. There is no other way which allows you to travel alone with your thoughts and peace that a bike gives you. I am Scottish but am presently living in Spain and have enjoyed sitting in the Spring sunshine with your book. I don't know that I will ever be able to replicate such an epic journey but thank you for letting me dream. I sincerely hope that it encourages many more people to get the pleasure I have enjoyed with your book. |

Inspirational Book.
Read ur book...was fun-tasteic..i haven't read any travel books...this was first for me .and neither I am a chronic reader...but this one was captivating and inspirational as well..specially the way events and thoughts were described were pretty simple and any smalltime traveler can develope association. Also devoid of any philosophical and of typical writeristic attitude it helps to bring out the raw taste of the journey.
I stay in pune, so would like to meet u sometime....whenever it may be convenient to u ..as i am also planning to go leh..in this june ...so meeting u will help me in that regard as well. Kindly let me know whenever u r free. |

I have just finished reading your book, , the autographed copy.
I have enjoyed it immensely. Your casual and easy to read style made it very enjoyable. Your avid descriptions of the terrain and the people you encountered made me feel I was making this journey myself.
I understand you are in the process of writing a book about your life in the U.S.
Good Luck. You have the makings of a great author! |

Just finished reading your book and was inspired beyond words!
Although I'm not a biker, I have tremendous respect for the Enfield Bullet as a friend of mine used to have one during our college days. I used to drive his bike once in a while and have always wanted to own a Bullet of my own, but ever since I met with a terrible accident on a motorcycle, my mom's petrified of two wheelers (although I'm not!). So these days, I drive a Jeep and am an active member of a pan India offroading club. A few of us Jeepers are in the process of finalizing plans of driving from Bangalore to Leh in Aug-Sep 2009 so I'd love to hear more from you in person.
Hoping to meet with you, or at least have a chat with you over phone. |
